The Concept

The concept behind Olivaverde is simple, to promote small artisan farmers and growers in the lesser known regions of Italy who produce wonderful extra virgin olive oils and other fine foods.

My original idea for Olivaverde evolved because I deal with a lot of small Italian farmers and producers as part of my work for Livinginlemarche.com. I came to realise that these small producers just happened to make really wonderful olive oils and pasta, and the quality being superior to anything normally found outside of Italy.

Unfortunately these great extra virgin olive oils are only available on a very localised basis and of course, by definition, are only produced on a small scale, so I took the decision to try and introduce them into specialist outlets in the UK.

 

I first fell in love with Italy, its people, food and culture when I visited the city of Palermo in Sicily as a child over forty years ago. As well as my work for Livinginlemarche.com I have revisited many of the lesser known regions of Italy and over the years my love and knowledge of fine Italian food and olive oils has grown.

All the Italian producers whom I am associated with are all immensely proud of their extra virgin olive oils, jams, cheeses, salami and pasta, and they all want their produce to become available and appreciated by consumers outside of their particular area of Italy.

I am very fortunate to be helping them to promote and sell their produce in the UK, and pleased that this is proving very popular with consumers in London, the home counties and also in other parts of the country.
